Bleeding Brunner’s Gland Hyperplasia of the Duodenum: A Case Report With a Review of the Japanese Literature

A man taking antithrombotic agents was admitted because of melena. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed a large, pedunculated polyp bleeding from erosions on its top. The polyp was endoscopically resected, and histopathologically diagnosed as Brunner ’ s gland hyperplasia. It is commonly encountered as a small, raised lesion, but may enlarge or bleed.
