The Improving of the Angular Resolution of Gamma-Ray Images of Portable Compton Camera with Special Iterational Method

2019
To obtain an acceptable weight and sensitivity of the portable gamma-ray imaging device, one must sacrifice the spatial resolution of the images obtained. As an opportunity to overcome this shortcoming, we are considering a method for additional processing of images obtained by different gamma-ray cameras. The image processing method is based on the use of obtained in advance apparatus function of the device. This approach gave satisfactory results for image processing of some portable cameras. In this work, we applied a similar approach for imaging with the portable Compton gamma camera Polaris HQ of H3D. The angular resolution of the camera is about 20 degrees. As result of image processing, the spatial resolution was improved by several times.
