Thermal conductivity enhancement for pure and oxide metal nanofluids
2020
The thermal conductivity enhancement for Cu and CuO nanofluids prepared using two step method has been studied for different volume concentrations and temperature. The use of different precursors i.e., copper chloride and copper acetate result in the synthesis of CuO nanostructures of different shapes; spherical and elongated respectively. The elongated nanostructures always exhibit higher thermal conductivity as compared to spherical CuO, but it is slightly less than that of pure Cu. Increase in thermal conductivity is observed with increase in particle loading. The obtained results demonstrate that the thermal conductivity of nanofluids increases linearly with temperature.
