Orientação sexual e identidade de gênero : análise da percepção dos/das professores/as de educação física escolar.

The school should be an environment conducive to the development of socialization, cognitive and motor learning and cooperation. However, the school environment, especially Physical Education, is inserted in a cisheteronormativity context, in which the knowledge and actions produced together present problems of all kinds. The objective of the present project is to analyze if the teachers of Physical Education of Basic Education of two medium-sized cities, near the great Belo Horizonte, have knowledge about the subjects sexual orientation and gender identity, incluind conducting a survey bibliography about the themes, with emphasis on Physical School Education in Brazilian studies. In order to fulfill the objectives, eight Physical Education teachers of the Basic Education were interviewed through a semistructured interview containing six questions that focused on the teachers' perception of sexual orientation and gender identity in their classes and how these themes were worked. The results showed that the teachers did not have access to the themes in their graduations and most of them are not able to define, understand and / or visualize them in a significant way. Thus, it was possible to perceive how present cisheteronormativity is in the educational context and how LGBTphobia is a recurrent problem. It is concluded that the Physical Education teachers interviewed do not have sufficient knowledge about the themes sexual orientation and gender identity and it’s noted that they show interest in learning about the subject. Thus, the discipline produces and reproduces social cisheteronormativity practices and social knowledge according to the context.
