Fuera de las cuevas, la ocupación humana pleistocena del centro peninsular

2019
This work pretend to make a revision of the human occuption of the interfluvial platform of the Manzanares and Jarama rivers in Madrid during the Late Middle Pleistocene and Upper Pleistocene,l within the context of the peninsular center. The catchment of abiotic resources that the human communities of the Pleistocene had, together with the geological characteristics of these platforms with a great abundance of flint resources, convert this area into points of attraction for the exploitation of the lithic outcrops. The activities carried out in the area show us the existence of an articulated and predetermined exploitation models, mainly associated with two techno-complexes: the Acheulean and the Mousterian. The activity carried out in these spaces generated enormous accumulations of lithic remains whose extension is yet to be determined, but which, in any case, shows the first accumulations of waste residues in the central peninsular region. Other examples show how this behavior was more widespread than suspect, and allows us to evaluate the chronological origin of the "Anthropocene" as a geological time.
