The invention discloses an evaluation method for the health condition of electric power equipment. The method comprises the following steps that on the basis of the important degree and the degradation trend speed degree of information of each state quantity of the electric power equipment, the standard daily change value and the standard month change value of each state quantity of the electric power equipment are counted, and the degradation trend speed degree is expressed by the change rate multiples; the maximum value of the current daily change rate multiple and the current month change rate multiple of the state quantity of the electric power equipment is used as the change rate multiples of the state quantity, and the grade of each state quantity of the electric power equipment is calculated; the grade of each component is calculated on the basis of the grades of the three poorest state quantities in each component of the electric power equipment; the equipment grade is calculated on the basis of the grades of the three poorest state quantities in the electric power equipment; and the overhaul range of the health condition of the electric power equipment is judged according to the equipment grading results. The evaluation method has the advantages that the calculation is simple, the speed is high, and the problems of insufficient overhaul and excessive overhaul due to planned overhaul are solved.
