Researches in preparation of FCC catalysts based on silica sol matrix

Latest researches in FCC catalysts using silica sol as the binder were reviewed,including the properties,features and factors influencing on stability of silica sol.Methods were described for preparation of FCC from silica sol prepared by ion-exchange of sodium silicate and by reaction among sodium silicate,an acid and an aluminum salt.FCC catalysts using silica sol as the binder features improved selectivity to coke and higher resistance to attrition.strength of the catalysts can be enhanced by adding surfactants and aluminium salts.
