Superconductivity in Ba Intercalated C60

1995
Abstract Magnetization measurements of samples with a Ba6C60 majority phase show superconductivity at a critical temperature of Tc = 6.5 K. In the samples, having a nominal composition of Ba6C60, X-ray diffraction analysis reveals an additional phase BaxC60 with x < 6. Possibly this phase could be responsible for the occurrence of superconductivity.
