Studi Eksperimental Performa Rotary Dryer 3 IDF (Induced Draft Fan) Dengan Variasi Putaran Dan Mass Flow Rate

2019
This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the rotation of cylinder on temperature changes in the rotary dryer, heat fluid heat received by cassava, changes in cassava mass and thermal efficiency on the rotary dryer with mass flow rate 0.004728 kg/s and 0.004206 kg/s along with drying load in the form of cassava with a mass of 1 kg. Cassava which has been cut to the same sizeis inserted into this dryer. This dryer is in the form of a cylinder or a drum that rotates continuously which underneath is given a direct heat source that comes from a gas stove, so that the hot fluid can flow evenly on the surface of the cylinder which results in even drying of the dried product. This tool is equipped with 3 IDF (Induced Draft Fan) blower and hole which is used to suck the product vapor dried in a tube. The results showed that the faster the cylinder's rotation the increase in temperature changes. At a mass flow rate of 0.004728 Kg / s, optimal results were obtained at 25 rpm cylinder rotation with a change in cassava mass of 0.30 kg, the heat of fluid received by cassava at 1452.41 Watt, and thermal efficiency at 24.50%. At a mass flow rate of 0.004206 Kg / s, optimal results are obtained at a 25 rpm cylinder rotation with a change in cassava mass of 0.22 kg, the heat of the fluid received by cassava at 1478.05 Watt, and thermal efficiency at 17.61%.
