The invention provides a button structure and a manufacturing method for a key cap. The button structure comprises multiple key caps, and each key cap comprises a key body and a surface color layer. The key body has an appearance with a first color. The surface color layer has an appearance with a second color different from the first color. The surface color layer is arranged above the keycap body, and provided with a hollow portion. The first color is exposed in the hollow portion. An additional protective layer is not needed, and the thickness of the keycap can be reduced.
