Article coated with low emissivity coating having an absorbent layer designed to have a bluish color convenient viewing angles off-axis

2008
A coated article including a coating (30) supported by a glass substrate (1), coating (30) comprising: at least a first and a second reflective layer infrared (IR) (9, 19), in which said IR reflecting layers are spaced from one another, and wherein the first IR reflecting layer (9) is closer to the glass substrate (1) that the second IR reflecting layer (19); a substantially metallic absorbing layer (15) comprising Ni and / or Cr located between the first and second IR reflecting layer (9, 19), wherein the absorbent layer (15) is sandwiched between the first and dielectric second layer ( 14, 16) and is in contact with these layers comprising silicon nitride are also found between the first and second IR reflecting layer (9, 19); and wherein the substantially metallic absorbing layer (15) has a thickness from about 9 to 12.5 nm (90-125 angstroms (A)) and wherein the substantially metallic absorbing layer (15) is in the coating ( 30) so that the coated paper presents a color value a * reflective glass side from 0 to +2 with a viewing angle of 45 degrees from the normal, and a color value b * reflective glass side from -10 to -4 with a viewing angle of 45 degrees from normal.
