Hydroxylation of propane with hydrogen peroxide on Fe(III) perfluorotetraphenylporphyrin deposited on alumina

2002
The procedure for depositing Fe(III) perfluorotetraphenylporphyrin, an effective inorganic biomimetic of cytochrome P-450, on alumina was improved. The biomimetic catalyst was shown to possess stable monooxygenase activity under the conditions of gas-phase hydroxylation of propane with hydrogen peroxide. The most probable mechanism of biomimetic hydroxylation of propane with hydrogen peroxide was suggested. Using this mechanism and the Michaelis-Menten equation, we were able to model the observed kinetics and estimate the kinetic parameters of the monooxygenase reaction.
