Heat capacities and densities of α,ω-dibromoalkanes as functions of temperature: A group additivity analysis
2000
Abstract Densities ρ and volumetric heat capacities C p / V of a few α , ω -dibromoalkanes (1,2-dibromoethane, 1,3-dibromopropane, 1,4-dibromobutane, 1,5-dibromopentane, 1,6-dibromohexane) have been measured within the temperature range 288–328 K using a vibrating tube densimeter and a differential scanning calorimeter, respectively. The molar heat capacities at constant pressure, C p , have been obtained by combining ρ and C p / V data. The C p group contributions for the CH 2 and Br group have been determined by the group additivity analysis.
