Positive psychology and physical education in schools

The purpose of this chapter is to highlight Graham Mallen’s experience, as a physical education (PE) teacher, in one UK secondary school over the course of a two-year period during which a well-being program was implemented through PE. He describes how the opportunity arose with support from the Youth Sport Trust and how he progressively learned about and implemented the ideas and activities from positive psychology, which have been transformative for both students and staff.
