Analysis on the Marginal Profit of Thermal Power Plants and Its Applications

Nowadays,the coal transactions are directed by the market economy while the electric power is controlled by planning,thus it is very significant to analyze the marginal profit of coal-fired plants under this circumstance,which involves variation incomes,variation costs and fixed costs.This paper introduces the methods and main points for calculating the unit variation cost and demonstrates the linearity relation between consumption and power generation in the variation cost item by using Excel software,and introduces the application of marginal profit analysis in practice.
