Gökçeada’nın gastronomik kimliğinin Ada’da faaliyet gösteren kadın işletmeciler perspektifinden değerlendirilmesi

The aim of this study is to examine gastronomic identity of Gokceada from the perspective of women managers. Determining whether women managers have any contribution to be empowered of Gokceada’s gastronomic identity is determined as the sub-objective of the study. For this purpose, face-to-face interviews were held with women managers who own a food and beverage business in Gokceada. “Descriptive Analysis and Word-Frequency Analysis” was used to analyze the data obtained from the study. As a result of the study, it is determined that women managers think that Gokceada has a gastronomic identity, but this identity should be empowered. In this context, it is concluded that in order to be empowered gastronomic identity of Gokceada, “gastronomic events should be organized, gastronomy education given in the Island should be supported, managers should hold routine meetings, the hidden sides of Greek culture should be discovered and the local stakeholders should act together”. In the study, it is also determined that women managers try to contribute to the strengthening of the Gokceada’s gastronomic identity with the recipes they developed by using local products grown on the island.
