Detection method of steel plate defects based on Barkhausen effect

The principle of defect detection using Barkhausen signals is expounded.According to the skin effect,penetration depth can be adjusted by regulating the frequency of alternating magnetic field,and the defects at deep region of ferromagnetic material can be detected by using serial layer scanning.The method of wavelet multi-resolution analysis is used for signal processing.The experimental results show that the air interstice defects of steel plate can be detected and located using this method,and the signal processing effect of using wavelet multi-resolution analysis is better than that of the traditional methods,such as RMS and peak-peak amplitude algorithm.
