A New MAP Selection Solution for Inter-domain Mobility in HMIPv6

The dramatic growth of wireless access devices drives quite frequent mobility among the IP networks. How to support the nodes mobility while keeping the connectivity continuous is an investigable issue. Mobile IPv6 protocol is designed for supporting IP mobility but in fact it suffers from a long handover latency. In this paper, we propose a new MAP selection scheme for inter-domain seamlessly mobility to reduce the handover cost. The performances analysis is presented and the results show that our proposed scheme can achieve better rules especially for the more frequent mobility scenario because that fewer bindings with the home agent are needed compared with the standard HMIPv6.
