Memória, território e comunidade: extensão universitária na escola de samba X9 - Santos, São Paulo

The text presents some theoretical and conceptual reflections on the day-to-day micropolitics  in a samba-school. As a starting point for this discussion, we took as our background the experience of the authors of projects in the X9 samba-school of the city of Santos, self-entitled the comunidade xisnoveana (X9 samba-school community).  The narratives show the constitution of ties of identity, characterized by friendship, kinship and neighborhood relations as also by the antipathies, conflicts and permanent tensions to which they give rise. The production of collective memory is seen as an agglutinative link, both constituted by and constitutive of community identity, producing and constituting forces, powers and moral arrangements within the various groups existing in the school.
