The Use of Radionuclides for the Quantitative Evaluation of Drug Local Irritancy

The experiments with rats were carried out to find conditions for the optimal use of radionuclides for quantitative evaluation of intradermal, dermal and intramuscular irritating effect of drugs. As a model for different types of local irritation were used the following substances: histamin, several irritating dermal preparations and suspension of yeast or Oleum sinapis. Radioactive indicators were either Bengal red 131J or Indium chloride113mIn administered intravenously. The results of our experiments have shown the dependence of the cumulative effect of the used radioactive indicators on grades irritation.
