Expression and Significance of Egr-1 in Oral Lichen Planus and Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma
2010
Objective To explore the expression and significance of Egr-1 in oral lichen planus(OLP)and oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC).Methods The expression of Egr-1 in 15 cases with normal oral mucosa tissues,30 cases with OLP tissues and 30 cases with OSCC tissues was detected by immunohistochemical experiment. Results The positive expression rate of normal oral mucosa, oral lichen planus and oral squamous cell carcinoma group were 60%,80%,20% respectively in the epithelial cells, and 13.3%,100%,96.7% respectively in the lamina propria and interstitial cells;Egr-1 expression showed significant difference among the three groups(P0.01).Conclusion Egr-1 participated in the pathogenesis of OLP and the occurrence, development of OSCC,and might be playing an important role in carcinogenesis of OLP.
