The genus Neolecta (Neolectaceae fam. nov., Lecanorales, Ascomycetes) in Canada

Descriptions and illustrations of Neolecta irregularis and N. vitelline from Canada are given. Amyloid ascus walls are reported for both species and conidia from N. vitelline. The Neolectaceae fam. nov. is created for Neolecta and is tentatively placed in the Lecanorales.
