Estruturas secretoras foliares em patchouli [Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth.]

2012
Patchouli ( Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth.) is a herbaceous plant of the Lamiaceae family with medicinal properties and widely used in the perfume industry due to the high value of its essential oil. Histological studies are an important tool to assist in the taxonomic characterization of species. The aim of this study was to realize the characterization of secrete structures of patchouli leafs, accession POG-015. The cross sections have shown that patchouli essential oil-producing glands are in the mesophyll, peltate glandular trichomes on both sides of the sheet and capitate glandular trichomes only on the midrib.
