Analysis of an efficient and eco-friendly CsGeSnI3 based perovskite solar cell: A theoretical study

2021
Abstract Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have showed their brilliance by attaining high power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 25.2% within a decade. Apart from attaining high performance its merits such as high carrier mobility, high carrier life time, low cost and easy fabrication has astonished the researchers of Photovoltaic (PV) community. However, this cell still faces issues in commercialization due to its toxic and unstable nature. In this work, we present an efficient Cesium Tin–Germanium Tri-iodide (CsSn0.5Ge0.5I3) based perovskite solar cell and attain PCE of 24.51%. We also theoretically study the parameters such as influence on the thickness of electron transport layer (ETL), doping concentration of charge transport layers and defect density of absorber layer on the performance parameters of the perovskite solar cell.
