A Computational Model for the estimation of IR Attenuation in Duststorm with varying visibility

2020
This paper presents an estimation of the propagation attenuation constant in duststorm at infrared wavelength. The log normal statistical parameters i and μ of the dusty media aerosol size distribution are evaluated using the previously reported experimental data .Using detailed Mie scattering model and the curve fitted probability density function, the propagation attenuation constant, in the dusty medium at infrared wavelength, is computed. The computed attenuation is related to optical visibility where visibility is estimated using the same particle size distribution at wavelength equals to 0.55 micron. The results are compared with the measured data available in literature.
