A 2D Zn(II) coordination polymer constructed by right-handed and left-handed Zn–Hbci–Zn helical chains and μ2-H2O bridges (H3bci = bis(2-carboxyethyl)isocyanurate)

2011
Abstract Reaction of Zn(OAc) 2 ·2H 2 O and bis(2-carboxyethyl)isocyanurate (H 3 bci) leads to the generation of a new coordination polymer, Zn(Hbci)(H 2 O) 3 ( 1 ), (H 3 bci = bis(2-carboxyethyl)isocyanurate), which features an interesting 2D layer containing Zn(II)–Hbci–Zn(II) right-handed and left-handed helical chains and μ 2 -H 2 O bridges. Furthermore, hydrogen bonds link the adjacent 2D layers to form a 3D supramolecular framework. The photoluminescence property of 1 was also studied.
