Minicourses in a first year physics laboratory

The article gives an account of a type of self-instruction which was developed in the first year physics laboratory at Chelsea College during 1971/72. It is given the name 'minicourse' because, as its name implies, it is literally a completely self contained course, both practical and theoretical, in a mini form. The instructional material includes programmed scripts, textbooks, films and tapes of the cassette type.
