Antenna Array Beam Scanning and SINR Visualization on a Map for 5G Urban Macro-Cell Test Environment

In this article two antennas such as a Yagi-Uda array and a Phased array are considered for beam scanning inside a dense urban macro cell test environment. SINRs are visualized on a map for each of these antennas under the above wireless test environment. This environment adopts ISM and 5G wireless communication. All these antennas are designed using antenna toolbox along with phased array system toolbox in MATLAB. Their characteristics are investigated by using the ANSOFT's HFSS software. The test environment and usage scenarios which are used here includes hexagonal network cell together with custom antenna toolbox. The data used over here are based on guidelines defined in ITU-RM report for evaluating 5G radio technology.
