TRAFFIC SCENARIOS IN DRIVING SIMULATION: IMPLEMENTATION AND APPLICATION

The papers presented in this issue were presented at a symposium devoted to the use of driving simulators to transportation safety. They discuss a wide range of approaches, applications and issues associated driving simulation research, training and clinical assessment. Driving simulation is finding increasing application in various research and clinical disciplines, including engineering, psychology and medicine. Simulation provides a convenient, comprehensive and safe means for training and assessing driver behavior, for evaluating new vehicle designs and for evaluating highway designs and traffic engineering concepts.
