Single Neutron Counting Using CCD and CMOS Cameras

2015
The present paper explores the technical possibility to use classical imaging detectors such as Charge-Coupled Devices (CCD) and Complementary Metal-Oxide Semi- conductor (CMOS) cameras as counting detectors at lower counting rates and transits smoothly to continuous imaging at higher rates. The gamma-rejection capabilities as well as the counting efficiency have been investigated with both an AmBe neutron source and in-beam experiments.
