Spatial-temporal accuracy validation and uncertainty analysis for TRMM 3B42 data at provincial scale in China

2012
This study makes use of 51 rain gauges in May, 2010 over Zhejiang as “true value” in order to validate the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) algorithm 3B42 in spatial-temporal scale based on the correlation coefficients and scatter points slope methods. In order to find the relationship between TRMM 3B42 and DEM, a three-polynomial-regression analysis was made with DEM as a dependent variable. The results show that TRMM 3B42 data displayed good accuracy in the overall area at daily time scale, and TRMM 3B42 precipitation data is less than rain gauges data. As far as the individual, the majority of the R value is high, and few parts is low, and the minimum value appears in research areas of Yu Qian, Shangpujia, Zhuji, Linpu. DEM presented a relatively complex influence of TRMM 3B42, as the elevation increases, R shows increasing-decreasing-increasing trend, the tendency of |Bias| is reducing-increasing.
