"Yi(一)"﹑"Gai(该)" can express the referring functions of being indefinite and definite.Moreover,they are used not only in independent and combined forms,but also in successive and conjoined forms.When expressing something identifiable,the post term "Gai NP" has three references separately: generic,specific position and arbitrary reference.Compared with the English articles "a" and "the","Yi" and "Gai" possess the features of being unprescribed and unspecialized,as well as being impure and non-professional.The referring imbroglio appears in "Gai" and "Ben" of written discourse because of the transfer of reference points.
