Level structure of 99, 101, 103Ag observed in the decay of light Cd isotopes

1980
Abstract The decay of 82 s, 101 Cd and 462 s, 103 Cd has been studied with the ISOLDE facility. In addition several γ-rays belonging to the 99 Cd decay have been observed. Single γ-ray, γ - γ - Δt coincidence and conversion electron spectra have been measured using mass-separated samples. Level schemes for 101 Ag and 103 Ag have been constructed. From log ƒt values for β + and EC feeding, the deexcitation pattern of the levels and conversion electron data, spin and parity could be deduced for some of the levels. Additional information from in-beam 102, 104 Pd(p, 2nγ) 101, 103 Ag studies was used to confirm several spin assignments. For 99 Cd a tentative decay scheme based on energy-sum relations is presented. Systematical trends in the properties of the neutron deficient odd silver nuclei are discussed. The experimental results are compared with theoretical predictions.
