Wax Emulsions: Formation and Manufacture

Abstract An introduction to wax emulsion is given followed by a survey of theory, formulation and manufacturing practice. The essential requirements of a wax emulsion are identified and exemplified by reference to several products. An attempt is made to classify these requirements and hence evaluate alternative modes of formation and formulations. As well as relating these to current industrial practice, suggestions are also made about possible future trends.
