Application of lean management theory in working process of center sterile supply department

Objective To improve the management process of the central sterile supply department,and enhance the efficiency of the management.Methods The major method of this study was lean management,which consisted of 5S management,visual management and pull inventory management.With these methods the process of central sterile supply department was improved.Results The problems that consisting of the waste of working process and the excess inventory of disposable products can be solved by introducing lean management,and the time of dressings bag production after lean management(370.15 ± 13.60) s was less than the time before lean management(654.50 ± 19.72) s,and the difference was statistically significant(P ＜ 0.01),so the human resources was saved.Conclusions The practices proved that lean management can promote the scientific management of central sterile supply department,and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of disposable products management.
