Coordinate Mid-term Dispatch Model of Integrated Electricity and Railway System Considering Single Track Constraints

2020
The coal transportation is not well coordinated with power system, resulting in increased electricity generation cost. Thus, need for joint operation of electricity system and railway system arises. This paper addresses two problems. First, a railway system model comprised of station and track is proposed, with single track constraints included. Second, a mid-term dispatch model of integrated electricity and railway system (IERS) is established with the consideration of unit commitment and N-l contingencies. Based on the proposed model, operation cost of IERS can be optimized. Besides, dispatch results of power system, as well as operating strategies for railway system, namely train timetable including trains’ path and coal cargo, can be obtained. Extensive numerical cases are performed on a modified IEEE 39-bus and a 14-node railway network to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed model, demonstrating that the model can ensure coal supply and decrease the operation cost of IERS.
