Case teaching of Chinese internal medicine used for improving diagnostic and treatment ability of students

Objective To observe and evaluate the effect of case teaching of Chinese internal medicine.Methods The students of TCM specialty (n=162) were chosen as the observation group and trained by case teaching method,and other 160 students of the same specialty were chosen as the control group trained by traditional teaching method.The advantages of case teaching were evaluated by using questionnaires and analysis on examination papers and medical records for one semester as a observation period.Results The evaluation of using questionnaires and analysis on examination papers and medical records showed that case teaching was superior to traditional teaching in popularity among students and teaching results.Conclusion Case teaching can improve the development of clinical thought,problem -analysing and problem -solving capability,and clinical ability of diagnosis and treatment.
