Scintillation hodoscopes with hodoscope photomultipliers

Abstract We present the design and principal characteristics of scintillation hodoscopes with hodoscope photomultipliers of different types. The ratios required in order to calculate the spatial resolution of the hodoscopes have been obtained. For the scintillation hodoscope with HPM of the GFEU-30 type we have defined the optimal weighted delay t x = 18 ns cm −1 , and the optimal width for the rod h = 2–3 mm, corresponding to the hodoscope spatial resolution +(0.8–1) mm.
