Recursion Versus Iteration: A Comparative Approach for Algorithm Comprehension

There is a worldwide effort for incorporating computing as a basic literacy in addition to reading, writing and arithmetic, and sustaining its learning from kindergarten to higher education. This work focuses on comparing recursion with iteration as they are perceived by learners in a first computing course. It also attempts to identify when is the best time to teach recursion and compare both iterative and recursive design techniques.
