The Content of the Basic Information Science and Computer Technology Course

The reform of the Soviet general education school is designed to enhance still further the quality of instruction and to accommodate its content to the conditions and requirements of the contemporary scientific and technological revolution. The introduction of a new course into the school secondary general education curriculum entitled "Basic Information Science and Computer Technology" offers a solution to one of the crucial challenges of the school reform—namely, that of equipping pupils with the knowledge and skills necessary to utilize modern computer technology.
