Abstract Zephycandidine A the first naturally occurring imidazo [1] , [2] , [3] , [4] , [5] , [5]a) , [5]b) , [5]c) , [5]d) , [5]e) , [6] , [7] , [8] , [8]a) , [8]b) , [8]c) , [9] phenanthridine alkaloid, isolated from Zephyranthes candida (Amaryllidaceae) has been prepared in three steps from the naturally occurring alkaloid haemanthamine.
