The function of hypoxia inducible factor-1α in immune response

There is an interdependence between inflammation and anoxia.Hypoxia inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α), as a crucial adjuster of anoxia, acts differently through multiple pathways according to differen oxygen content.The role of HIF-1α is also different in different diseases, because of the diversity of pathogens infection and autoimmune diseases.Therefore, it is necessary to review the role of HIF-1α in inflammatory and pathological activities in various immune cells, pathogen infections and autoimmune diseases.
