Synchronized throttling of instructions for power consumption management for storing on the basis of load cycles in multi-channel systems

2012
One technique for throttling of memory commands in a partitioned memory subsystem includes receiving a synchronization instruction given by a plurality of storage control units in main storage control unit. The synchronization command includes command data, the one associated synchronization display (eg., One or more synchronization bits) include for each of the plurality of storage control units, and each of the plurality of storage control units controls a corresponding partition of the partitioned memory subsystem. In response to receiving the synchronization command, the main storage control unit transmits the synchronization command to the plurality of storage control units. In response to receiving the forwarded synchronization command, each of the plurality of storage control units disables an associated status bits. In response to receiving the forwarded synchronization command determines each of the plurality of storage control units, whether the associated synchronization indicator is activated. Then, each of the plurality of storage control units sends to the associated synchronization activated display the forwarded synchronization command to the associated power consumption control logic.
