Adequacy of energy and macronutrients and knowledge of nutrition in students of nutrition and dietetics. This investigation was a correlational descriptive with field design study. The objective was to find the relationship between the energy and macronutrients adequacy and knowledge about nutrition in students of nutrition and dietetics from the Universidad de Los Andes during the academic period U-2015. The study population was composed by 179 regular students of 1st and 3rd year of the career. The sample was selected using a stratified sampling, 101 students voluntarily participating in the study. For the data collection was applied a 24 hours for 2 non-consecutive days’ reminder and a test of knowledge about nutrition, consisting of 20 questions of simple selection. The results showed that more than 80% of the students surveyed consume an inadequate diet in energy and macronutrients that does not cover their nutritional requirements. Knowledge about nutrition ranked in the 3 levels of the regular category represented by 58.40% of the surveyed. In conclusion, no relationship was found between the adequacy of energy and macronutrients and the knowledge about nutrition.
