Abstract Thermolysis of the oxy-PAH benzo[ c ]phenanthrene-5,6-dicarboxylic anhydride ( 3 ) and 6 H -benzo[ cd ]pyren-6-one ( 4 ) gave the abundant C 18 H 10 CP-PAH combustion effluents benzo[ ghi ]fluoranthene ( 1 ) and cyclopenta[ cd ]pyrene ( 2 ).
