23.2: Understanding the Dominant Charge Carrier in Polyfluorenes: Its Consequences for Lifetime and Efficiency

Single carrier devices have been made with LUMATION Light-Emitting Polymers (LEPs) in order to gain an understanding of the majority charge carrier in the system. By changing the cathode structure, the majority carrier and charge balance in the system can be tuned. As a consequence, the lifetime of the device can be tuned and yields characteristic luminance decay. Using this information, and data from single carrier device lifetimes an understanding of mechanisms of diode device degradation can be gained.
