A technocrat and the Mahatma - An imaginary dialogue with Mahatma Gandhi on Information and Communication Technology(ITC)

The author of this article is a product of IIT, Delhi, with Master’s Degree in computer science. He has joined government service and is now a senior officer of National Informatics Centre (NIC), the computer technology and informatics wing of the Government of India. He is at present the technical director and officer in-charge of training posted at Guwahati. Interestingly, he is also a keen student of the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi as this article reveals. His understanding of Gandhi is his own and he has made a bold attempt to visualise how Gandhiji would have reacted to the development of Communication and Information Technology (CIT) had he been alive.
