Summary
X-ray microtomography was performed on polymeric solid foams over a large range in porosity (50–90%). Combining high flux and high spatial resolution of synchrotron radiations a complete 3D information of the inner microstructure was generated allowing physical parameters for the cells, walls, nodes, and defects (pits, holes in the cell walls, inclusions) to be determined quantitatively.
