[PHD and MPHIL Theses' Abstracts]

2020
The objective of this dissertation is to develop a resilient control approach to secure cyberphysical systems (CPSs) against cyberattacks, communication network failures, and potential physical faults. A general CPS consists of three main components: 1) the physical part including sensors, actuators, and hardware of the plant; 2) the cyber part including the software and control ler logic of the plant; and 3) the communication network connecting the first two parts. By this definition, major infrastructures such as intelligent transportation systems and connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) are considered CPSs. Despite being potentially beneficial in several aspects, the connectivity in a CAV poses a set of specific challenges from safety and reliability standpoints.
