A Strong Variable Source of Hard X-Rays in the Constellation 'Coma Berenices' (Silnyi Peremenyi Istochnik Zhestkogo Rentgenovskogo Izlucheniya v Sozvezdii Volosy Veroniki),

1973
Abstract : A spectrometer for hard X-radiation was installed aboard the 'Kosmos-428' artificial Earth satellite (1). The detector consisted of a scintillation counter with a CsI(T1) crystal, 30 mm deep and 80.0 mm in diameter. The preliminary data from thirty revolutions of the satellite are reported here. A strong variable source of hard X-rays was found on 24-25 June 1972 in the region of the constellation Coma Berenices.
